Mary graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2006 summa cum laude. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, with minors in Psychology and Human Services Management. Mary’s outstanding academic record and participation in a broad range of activities led to her induction into national honor societies Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. While attending Illinois Wesleyan, Mary interned with McLean County Circuit Court Chief Judge Elizabeth Robb and later with Mid-Central Community Action’s Domestic Violence Unit as a victim advocate. Mary also served as President of national social sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma. Faculty members voted her 2005 Greek Woman of the Year for the campus.
Mary attended law school at Chicago-Kent College of Law, graduating with honors in 2009. Mary worked as a law clerk at a prominent medical malpractice defense law firm throughout law school. She also worked as a legal extern for Cook County Domestic Relations Judge Leida Santiago and as a student assistant in Kent’s Family Law Clinic. Mary received the CALI Achievement Award for Highest Grade in Illinois Civil Procedure, Family Law, Legal Writing IV: Civil Litigation, and Products Liability.
Mary is currently a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, Northwest Suburban Bar Association, and the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois.
